My academic education is in the field of the Visual Arts with a main focus in learning how to see. About this sensorial stimulus, multiple aspects of visual communication are developed, theorizing about Aesthetics / Function, Structure / Expression or Taste / Concept.
The many expressions and knowledges explored and learned along the years and academic degrees include: Illustration, Art History, Aesthetics, Descriptive Geometry and Artistic and Technical / Geometric Drawing, Photography, Engraving, Painting and Computer Aided Drawing. All in all, there is a high emphasis in Drawing (in its most varied aspects), Painting and computer expressions.
Parallel to academic education, I've done training in computer management and maintenance, graphic design, illustration, 3D modeling, computerized technical drawing and webdesign. From this variety comes a general knowledge in computer domains aimed at graphics, in raster or vector format, in 2D or 3D environment, animated or web. This amplitude of computer imaging knowledge allows me to adapt with great ease to alternative software and aplications of those previously studied.
I master (in most scenarios) the following image software: ADOBE Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Premier; AUTODESK AutoCAD (2D or 3D environments), Civil 3D, 3D Studio Max, SketchBook (Android / tablet) , COREL Draw, among many others.
In the Office area, Microsoft Word and Excel (data management and some formulation), Powerpoint, Windows 7/8/10 are dominated. As far as web browsing is concerned, I mainly use Google Chrome, Avast Safe Zone or Firefox.
The computing experience essentially focuses on Windows PC environment, with short forays into Macintosh. Here are some computer courses taken along the years:
My Master in Drawing also explored the computer assisted design, with special focus on AutoDesk 3D Studio Max. I have, threrefore, advanced user-driven domain of the following digital drawing applications:
I've learned music in the form of classical piano when I was a young boy for several years, but since I don't play it anymore (for more than 25 years), I can only move up and down a few scales (C Major... hehehe). Later on, I also got some lessons in classical guitar, however, my game is electric so I've been a major self taught fellow in this instrument. I've been playing the electric guitar since 1992... and have a small collection at home.
In later years, I've been also learning how to repair, modify or build an electric guitar from scratch, recalling all my learnings, ranging from computer experience to academics education. Many successful projects in this area have been achieved.
I've been practicing Kung Fu TO'A from 1994, in a Portuguese variant called Lotus Flower. Kung Fu TO'A is originated in Iran by 1960s, created by Ibraim Mirzaii. Though this is an interesting kung fu expression, the Portuguese variant is quite unique, developed by Master Guilherme Luz.
Praticing Kung Fu changed my life deeply, made me more selfware, stronger, smarter, flexibe (I can do leg splits most of the time!) and overall healthier. It also introduced me to vegetarianism which I embraced 22 years ago.
I started to learn Hatha Yoga in late '90s, early '00s at Centro Português de Yoga. It came as a complement to Kung Fu and helped to optimize its strutural poses and instances.
Learning yoga made my Kung Fu deeper and sturdier, and though I don't practice it that often anymore, it deepened itself into my bones...
